In Richmond Virginia, a group of savvy, creative Foo Fighters fans united behind a common dream - to bring their favorite band to town for a rockin' show. The Foo has yet to play Richmond, and these men thought the time had finally come. So, they began, unbeknownst to the band, a crowdfunding campaign to sell 1400 tickets at $50 each to cover the costs of the show. If the money wasn't raised, or if the band refused to play, then everyone would receive a full refund.
Late Friday, when word of the show and its fundraising success reached the band, they posted a Tweet announcing their agreement to play the show. There goes my hero.
Rock n roll, meet democracy. You may kiss the bride.
