The pop music world lost one of its most prolific songwriters of the 60s, 70s & 80s.
Gerry Goffin, former husband to Carole King, was a co-writer on such seminal hits as the piano bar standard "NATURAL WOMAN", as well as "WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW?", "THE LOCO-MOTION", and more recently, "SAVIN' ALL MY LOVE FOR YOU", the debut single that launched the career of Whitney Houston.
Goffin and King have their love affair currently dramatized in Broadway's hit show, "BEAUTIFUL".
Goffin was also the writer of many of the hits of one of my favorite R&B acts - The Drifters. "ON BROADWAY", "SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, and "UP ON THE ROOF".
Goffin, who was both Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated, was an inductee to both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
