The Sound of Silence - (or, It's Hard Out Here For a Chimp)

Recent research by the American Psychological Association indicates that, when given a selection of music from around the world, chimpanzees prefer the tribal rhythms of India and Africa to more Western sounds. In fact, the researchers state, the chimps seem to prefer silence to Western music.
The assumption is that the strong, predictable rhythms and acoustic properties of the Western music (ranging from Blues to pop to Classical) was seen as threatening to the chimps.
Now they know how we feel about Justin Bieber.
