Now that the summer weather is in full swing, and the migrations to the Hamptons and Jersey Shore are part of the seasonal template, some NYC folks are looking around for some new, different, or unusual things to do.

Allow us to offer up a few ideas ---

For the trivially minded - check out the Big Quiz Thing, offering ongoing trivia nights that are, hands down, the best in town. Going strong after more than 10 years, the monthly event gathers twenty or more teams for an evening of high production value, multimedia interaction and questions drawing from politics, sports, pop culture and current events. And, you can forget those lame "bar tab" prizes. How about $200 in cold, hard cash that gets divided among the winners...plus awesome prizes like tickets to a certain DUELING PIANOS SHOW???

Like something more active, but still tickling the grey matter? Head over to PogoEvents.com for weekly scavenger hunts all over (and under...) the city that never sleeps. Points awarded for best team name, best team costume, and for completing the various challenges set out for you along your hunt are added up, and winners get nifty prize packages, including tickets to a certain DUELING PIANOS SHOW.

Want to escape the city to a summer camp for grown ups? ClubGetaway is for you. They have theme weekends all summer long for Boomers, athletes, singles, and more. Plus, super-sized weekends on the holidays, including the upcoming July 4th weekend, which will feature a certain DUELING...ok, you get the point.
