The backbone of cheesy music at a Dueling Pianos show are songs from those great, cheesy movies.

So now, in our continuing series of helpful hints for your song requesting pleasure, Shake Rattle & Roll Dueling Pianos proudly presents this week's installment - enjoy our top 10 movie-based Dueling Pianos song requests.

(And just so you know, staying power is a determining factor, so HAPPY and LET IT GO are out for now...perhaps in a year or two we'll revisit them...)

#10 - POWER OF LOVE - Huey Lewis & The News

Where would Marty McFly and his flying DeLorean be without this awesome anthem for the time traveller in us all? Crank up those 1.21 gigawatts and sing your 80s heart out.

#9 - 9 TO 5 - Dolly Parton

A nod to the country rockers out there. Dolly brings the women's lib movement out of the 70s and into the 98º range with a sing-along for the ladies, that the fellas definitely won't mind watching.

#8 - LIVE AND LET DIE - Wings/ Guns & Roses

Whether the original bad-ass Bond track by McCartney and Co., or it's edgier remake with Axl & Slash, it's as much fun to listen to as it is to play. I mean, who doesn't like a randomly inserted reggae break in the middle of a rock record (ahem ahem, Spirit of Radio...)

#7 - EYE OF THE TIGER - Survivor

It's a workout, it's a singalong, it's two-two-two mints in one. I dare you not to shadow box when we play this one. And sing the chorus. While shadow boxing.

#6 - GANGSTAS PARADISE - Coolio

For all our millenial readers, wondering if this list would ever break past 1989...ta da!

How could we omit this hip-hop classic? Because what says "piano music" like gangsta rap does...

#5 - STAYIN ALIVE - The BeeGees

Few songs, and fewer movies, can fully define an entire genre the way this one did. Can you think of disco without Saturday Night Fever, or STAYIN' ALIVE (or that white suit...)?

The song plays, and everyones fingers start pointing up over their shoulder.

#4 - (I'VE HAD) THE TIME OF MY LIFE - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes

No one puts Baby in a corner. And no one leaves this nugget off a top 10 movie music list.

#3 - TIME WARP - Rocky Horror Picture Show Cast (Richard O'Brien)

You can keep your Cupid Shuffles and your Wobbles and your Macarenas. This mofo is the ORIGINAL line dance for rock n rollers. And pelvic thrusters.

#2 - FOOTLOOSE - Kenny Loggins

You simply couldn't make a movie in the 80s without a blessing from the Kenny Loggins mafia. Without his imprimatur, your soundtrack album was doomed to languish on the shelves of Tower Records in the discount bin. Fortunately for Messrs. Bacon, et al., they had the ultimate party anthem for barn dancing, tractor driving, parent defying teens in heat.

And at #1 - could there be any other???

DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME - Simple Minds

Is there any movie song more iconic than this one?? Whenever you don't even need to know the words to sing along, you KNOW you've got gold. Our brat packers never seemed so John Hughes-y as they did in this zeitgeist-definer. Throw your fist in the air.

I said La. La la la laaaaa...

** honorable mention to DANGER ZONE, another member of the Loggins mafia, and a definite piano bar mainstay. shoutout for this one goes to Michael Hosch, a dueling piano bar player from Texas!
